Chad Metzger, DO, is a pain management physician at SEPA Pain & Spine in Horsham, Langhorne, and Chalfont, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Metzger is a graduate of Penn State University, where he received his Bachelor of Science in kinesiology, the study of human movement. His passion for the musculoskeletal system and biomechanics lead him initially to pursue graduate education at chiropractic school, where he developed a passion for spine care. He then went on to receive his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Metzger completed his residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation (physiatry) at Temple University Hospital, where he served as chief resident, followed by additional fellowship training in pain medicine at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

Dr. Metzger takes a holistic patient-centered approach to treating his patients with a focus on palliating pain and restoring function. His goal is to use his knowledge and interventional skill set to give his patients their best shot at returning to a normal functional life using the multi-modal disciplines, medications, modern technologies, and state-of-the-art procedures available. He strives to encourage his patients to take on an active role in their health care and treatment plans for ultimate long-term success and improved quality of life. 

His interests and expertise include neuromodulation, image-guided injections of the spine and peripheral joints, regenerative medicine, radiofrequency ablations, physical medicine, and spinal hygiene. 

When not at work, Dr, Metzger lives an active lifestyle and enjoys exploring local hiking and running trails with his family. He likes to challenge himself mentally and physically by competing in local races and triathlons, which is a major passion within his family. His favorite days are college football Saturdays cheering on his Nittany Lions with friends. He also enjoys cooking and exploring all of the unique cuisines and exquisite foods that Philadelphia has to offer.
